Walking the Labyrinth

Picture
Labyrinths have been around for over 4,000 years. There are many styles; ours is a modern seven circuit Santa Rosa labyrinth.
You cannot get lost on a labyrinth; there is one entry and one path leading you to the centre.

There are no right or wrong ways to walk a labyrinth.

Walk at your own pace, spending as much time as you wish. Stay in the centre for as long as you want and be comfortable sitting or standing anywhere on the labyrinth.

It can be walked alone or in a group; in joy or in sorrow; with a question in mind or simply open to the gift it offers.

The labyrinth invites us to quiet the mind, calm the body and stir the spirit on a journey to a place of presence. It can be a place of peace and quiet. It can be a symbol of transformation and wholeness. It can be a place for healing.

Suggestions for walking the labyrinth:
Pause at the entrance and be open to the possibilities.

If there is a group already walking, you may want to silently observe.

Most people prefer to walk in silence; please respect that need.

If there is someone else walking, space your entry and allow about ten feet between each person.

If you catch up, feel free to pass someone if that feels comfortable.

Pause in the centre.

When ready, follow the circuit back to the entrance. Acknowledge your leaving with another pause.

Please walk the labyrinth as often as you wish. Accessible 24/7 on our front lawn.
