Good Shepherd Art Studio
The following are upcoming courses at the Good Shepherd Art Studio. For more information, please email kathiemacduff@shaw.ca. In most cases, supplies are included but please bring your basic “kit” and favorite “stuff”.
Thursdays, 6:30 – 9:30 p.m., on-going
Open Studio
This is a “drop-in” at the studio. Bring your own project and supplies. You’re welcome to make use of studio toys, references and books! Create with the supportive and inspiring companionship of other artists. $5/visit or $25 for a 6 week pass (doesn’t have to be consecutive).
Please note: new Tuesday morning journal class
Tuesday, March 5 – April 9, 10 a.m.– noon; and 7 – 9 p.m.; 6 weeks, $80
Creative Journaling: The Rebel Within
Within each of us is a desire to be as authentic as possible and yet, our society has strict rules about who we should be and what we should be doing. Being creative without being productive is not something we are encouraged to do. But if you are considering this class, you’ve already connected with your inner rebel. This time around, the classes will be adapted and instead of a mix of art and writing in each class, we’ll be arting the first day and exploring with words in the second class and so on.
Next class: April 23 – May 28
Wednesday, April 3 to June 19; 9:30 a.m. – noon; 12 weeks, $168
Just So: Gesso
Can we keep engaged over twelve weeks while exploring only one medium? Thanks to the versatility of gesso, the answer is YES! Amazing texture, resist and transfer techniques are just some of what we’ll play with. There’ll be other mediums introduced as we go but gesso will be our focus. We can look forward to some finished pieces and a technique reference booklet!
Next class: In September
