Exploring the Scriptures honestly these days means bringing to our exploration of the Bible many of the scholarly discoveries that have emerged over the past century or so. This includes acknowledging that there are many flood stories that were written before Genesis was composed and that there are actually two flood stories in our Bible. But, what does this do to our understanding of the grand narrative in the Christian Scriptures? What do these biblical flood stories say about what kind of God will be portrayed in the pages that follow?
