ADVENT 4 - Micah 5:2-5a; Luke 1:39-45

The prophet Micah played a significant role in the development of what has become known as the "messianic expectation" of the ancient Israelites, and what has served as the foundation of our Advent anticipation. And yet, despite that messianic expectation, so many of the Israelites in Jesus's day could not accept the idea of Jesus being the one who fulfilled that expectation. In this sermon, Rev Derwyn explores why it would be that this happened, why Jesus was not accepted as the Messiah by so many. And in so doing, he will encourage us to be careful that we do not make the same mistake ourselves, as we anticipate what God will do in the future.
