ADVENT 3 - Ezra 1:1-4; 3:1-6a, 10-13; Mark 13:1-8

It is ironic that the books of Ezra and Nehemiah get scant coverage in the Sunday morning lectionaries, because these books record the events of Israel's return from exile, which has been greatly anticipated in our readings over the past couple of weeks. Why this is may be difficult to determine, but Rev Derwyn suggests in this challenging sermon that part of the reason might have to do with how the history of the restoration from exile is quite different from what had been promised . . .

You'll also notice that Rev Derwyn is kinda bad at math . . . or so it seems.
