EPIPHANY 2 - Isaiah 43:15-21; Mark 2:1-22

As we continue our journey into the Gospel of Mark, allowing this first of the four "official" gospels to speak for itself, we encounter Jesus doing a number of notable things and then using a couple of analogies to describe the responses of the people to his proclamation of the good news of God. In speaking of patching an old cloak and putting new wine into old wineskins, we can see how Jesus thought about those who had difficulty with accepting what he had to say. As we look more closely into this, we can discover that his perspective on this is likely different from what we've come to assume . . .
