GREAT VIGIL OF EASTER - Genesis 7, 8, 9; Genesis 22:1-18; Exodus 14:10-31; 15:20-21; Isaiah 54:5-14; Zephaniah 3:14-20; Romans 6:3-11; Mark 16:1-8

The readings of the Great Vigil of Easter are meant to make us think about the pattern of God's work over the course of history in bringing light into darkness, freedom to those in slavery, restoration to those in exile, and life to those facing death. In this way, the death and resurrection of Jesus is not a unique thing; it's another example of the kind of thing God has always been doing and continues to do. The question is, how do we see his death and resurrection in us?
