Going Beyond Sunday Morning

When Isaiah began his indictment of ancient Israel, the point he made then still carries weight today. What good is a worship service if those participating in it are not serving society around them? Whether you read Isaiah's words, or Jesus's words, or James's words, the importance of loving service in our communities is a consistent, necessary message. And it may well be that Canadian churches need to demonstrate that we concretely do more than simply advance religion in our country . . .
