PALM SUNDAY - Isaiah 50:4-9a; Psalm 118:1-2, 19-29; Philippians 2:5-11; Matthew 21:1-11

The Triumphal Entry of Palm Sunday begins Holy Week and is the first chapter of the Passion Narrative. The liturgies we will be taking part in over the course of this week are meant to help us experience what this significant time in Jesus's life was like. On Palm Sunday, it's easy to identify with the crowds of Jesus's disciples surrounding him and celebrating as he entered the city of Jerusalem. But what if we identified ourselves with the residents of Jerusalem instead? What would our response to Jesus have been? And what does that thought experiment have to say to us today?
