EASTER 3 - Acts 10:1-17, 23-24, 34-48; Matthew 9:36-10:1, 5-8.

In the story of Cornelius and Peter, we see the Holy Spirit expand the church to include non-Jews starting with God-fearing Gentiles in Caesarea. Peter is primed by a vision about unclean animals made clean by God to help him open his mind to socializing with non-Jews disregarding any ritual impurity that may result. Peter learns that in the new people of God in Christ, there is room for all no matter their background. How open are we to God doing a new thing in our midst today?
