Easter 4 - 1 Peter 1:3-5,8-9,13-19; Luke 18:35-19:10

Salvation involves more than our eternal destiny, whether we will spend eternity in heaven or hell. Yes, salvation has a component that awaits the last day to be revealed in its fullness and grandeur, but salvation also has a component that is active here and now. Jesus was sent to save the world, and the events of that first Easter makes it possible for us to be freed from whatever binds us. Whatever our burden is, Jesus can work his healing and give us a life of forgiveness, generosity, kindness, peacefulness, and purpose. Imagine Jesus asking, “What do you want me to do for you?” How would you answer?
